A Very Good Birthday Week

E-mail Print PDF

Today has been a very good and happy day, besides the fact that it is my birthday.  Actually this whole week has been really good.  I can't believe I am 28 years old!  I am getting old.  This morning, Jebby was teasing me by intentionally being irritating.  I didn't get much sleep the previous night (with the kids waking up on and off), so I was trying to sleep-in a little bit longer and Jebby was just irritating me by tickling me.  Later that day, he said that he was just seeing how different I would be now that I am 28.  I was definitely grumpy that morning with him... needless to say. I fell for his little trick/trap. :)  But he says, he still loves me.

Also, this morning I got to talk to my family back home in the Philippines and then later on in the afternoon, my sister Cheryl and I had quite the lenghty conversation on the phone just catching up and seeing how our lives has been.  It was a great opportunity to just "talk".  And I am glad we did.  We need those moments to just talk sometimes... it really does something to perk up your day and spirits.

Anyway, my hubby planned things to make my birthday special throughout the whole week.  It started last week Friday.  He and the kids got me greeting cards and my camera accessories (case and tripod) as a gift.  Wednesday night, he took me out (with Jason and Kelley) to go bowling.  He knew I always wanted to go bowling... so that was a special treat.  As soon as midnight struck (to be Aug 15)... he was the very first to sing to me and greet me happy birthday.  He definitely is sweet in his own way.

Today, we decided to stay home.  I made chili for dinner, but while I was still making dinner, Jebby went out to pick up an ice cream cake for me, for dessert.  When he came back, he brougth me my cake.  He said it was the nicest cake he can find at the store (Dairy Queen) -- it had a picture of a motorcycle on it, with the words "Happy Birthday".  Definitely my kind of cake =P NOT.  Maybe for him.  But I still thought it was pretty neat and thoughtful of him.  Anyway, a few moments later he asked me to come check something out in the kitchen.  As soon as I walk in the kitchen, I see my dear Jebby holding a bouquet of a dozen white roses (I love white roses btw) and a tiny Victoria's Secret bag.  He is so sweet... I nearly cried :)  He got me a Victoria's Secret gift card (in case any of you was wondering what was in the VS bag ;) -- nothing naughty, just a gift card).  But you would never know what I'd get with that gift card, though ;) he-heh. :)

He was telling me how it was odd that the ladies at the VS store kept telling him of how they admire him, and how sweet he is, that he inspire them, blah, blah... for coming in the store and getting a gift for his wife.  One lady even said... "my boyfriend would never come in a VS store." So, apparently they were amazed at how "brave" Jeb was for shopping at a VS store.  He thought that was pretty funny.  I'm sure he liked all the compliments too ;)

Anyway, we had Sabrina over for dinner and cake and she brought an orphaned baby bunny for us to see.  She unfortunately killed its family while mowing the lawn and found this one alive yet.  It was the cutest littlelest tiny bunny I have ever seen.  And oh, how the kids LOVED it!  Jordan and Aubrey were just both so excited about the bunny, that they skipped their bath (which they normally love) just to play with the bunny.  They would pet it and kiss it, cuddle with and hug it, pretend to make it sleep, and Jordan even made the baby bunny go *boing* *boing*... as if it were bouncing or hopping.  It was hilarious.  Aubrey then, made the bunny "fly".  And then, that was it -- the end of their "play time" with the baby bunny.  We need to get that bunny back home and set free before the kids kill it from exhaustion and fright =P

Well, that is my week and birth day update for you.  It has really been a fun evening and a great start to the Sabbath.  I am so glad the Sabbath is finally here.  We all need the break.  Hope everyone else has a wonderful Sabbath.
