Burnt and Exhausted

E-mail Print PDF
I just spent my entire morning until past 1pm (plus some more towards the late afternoon) weeding our garden. It's all weeded now, except for where the peas and beans row are. The weeds are so many (with all the rain we have gotten this past month), that most of the weeds are about a foot high. I know it's pretty sad. We should have weeded a long time ago, but we were just so busy and packed with things to do that the garden (and flower beds) weeding got pushed aside. Good thing, the weeds were easy to pull without much effort, and I think being it that long, there is more to "grab" and hold on to when pulling. All these weeding this morning left me pretty burnt though. The burnt spot doesn't hurt at all but I did get a really good tan (I am already tan to begin with!), you can definitely see the tan lines I got with the clothes I was wearing. I hope my skin tone will even out soon, and that it won't peel as bad. Also, all these weeding our in the hot sun left me extremely exhausted, thirsty and sore. I will sleep so good tonight (I hope!). :)

We got to sample the TurDucHen we got from ChoiceFilets.com for Sabbath dinner. It was good. Although, me being a big meat lover, I liked the Prime Rib roast and Prime Filet Mignon steaks a lot better ;) Ohhh, was it remarkably tender and delicious!

Bouncer "Waterpark"

E-mail Print PDF

I am not sure if this inflatable bouncer can get wet. I put the kids bouncer up last week on a very nice day, but towards the afternoon it started raining and I wasn't able to put the bouncer away in time, so I just left it out there in hopes it won't get ruined and would dry up quickly the next day. Anyway, the following day, I blew it up so that it can get dried (there was some water in it yet), but the kids decided that they wanted to play in it anyway. I'm glad they did. It turned out that it became a little "waterpark" for them. They loved bouncing and splashing in the water; and slipping and sliding! They had a blast. Below are some videos I took of them. I have uploaded the pictures as well in the Photo Gallery section.

A Victim of Theft

E-mail Print PDF

We are so bummed right now. We have fallen to be a victim of petty theft in our neighborhood. We usually don't lock our vehicle since we don't keep any valuables in the truck (well, except for our sunglasses). So this morning, Jeb found the truck's glove box and middle box doors opened and our sunglasses were gone and a few stuff scattered on the floor. Jeb's Rayban prescription sunglasses won't do them any good (even if they sell it -- because it is presciption!), but mine wasn't. It is just such a bummer, 'cause those sunglasses weren't cheap at all!

Anyway, I have been telling Jebby to lock our vehicle ever since the first time somebody "rummaged" through our truck and took our lose change. Basically, we think this petty theft is being done by someone in our neighborhood as this was not the first time someone went in our vehicle. The odd thing is that they only took a thing or two. The first time, they only took the lose change (but left all the other contents of the box scattered all over the floor), and then this second attempt, they only took the sunglasses. I am glad they didn't take anything more than that (or leave with the turck itself!). Our car cellphone charger is still there and some small change is still there, cd player/changer is still there. Weird.

The annoying thing though, I had my sunglasses in the house yesterday but then decided (even though I had the urge to just do it tomorrow) to put it back in its case in the truck. Oh wells, it is just material things but I am really upset of the act of theft. I'm sure God knows who does it and will deal with them in His own good time and way.

A Day to Ourselves

E-mail Print PDF

Today is a nice Sabbath. We had good messages, and our sermon topic was really interesting. Our minister talked about the other signers we don't hear often enough about, who signed the Declaration of Independence for the U.S., wherein they willingly gave up their wealth, fortune, lands, etc. to attain independence from the English, and in the end never got anything back from the governement (except for their freedom). He contrasted this with the analogy wherein Christs' disciples did the same thing. The disciples gave up their jobs and possessions to follow Christ (not knowing what is to become of them at the present), and morese since they see the goal and the reward in the future, which is eternal life and the Kingdom.

Anyway, after church, Mom, Dad and Sabrina took the grandkids (Jordan, Aubrey and Sophia) to visit their Great Grandparents, so Jeb and I, Jason and Kelley can have a little break from the kids and have a day to ourselves. That is very nice of them, since we definitely need this once in a while! We do love our kids to death and want to be with them all the time, but having a break from parenting once in a while is also very refreshing. Jason, Kelley, Mike, Jeb and I went out to lunch and had a great time just hanging out and conversing without having to fuss over kids. It is a little different not having the kids since we mom's are so used to fussing over them all the time, so even thought it was a little weird at first, we still enjoyed the time with each other.

RIght now, I am sooo wanting to take a little nap before we head out to Jason/Kelley''s and hang out again and have dessert over at their place before the the grandparents drop off the kids. So... I'll update and talk more later....

PS.  Belated Happy Birthday to my brother Danny, yesterday the 11th!  We pray for more years ahead of you and blessings in life.
